Prof. Dr. Gamal Shiha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dakahlia Liver Patients Care Association and the Egyptian Liver Hospital in Sherbin, received the shield of the Al Maktoum Charity Foundation, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance. This came in appreciation of his efforts in charitable work over 23 years through the establishment of the association and the hospital, to combat hepatitis viruses and liver and digestive system tumors, and provide treatment to poor patients.

In the same context, Mr. Mirza Al Sayegh, Director of the Office of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, conveyed during a phone call with Dr. Gamal Shiha, the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum to Prof. Dr. Gamal Shiha and the staff, praising the efforts of the Liver Center in treating tens of thousands of poor patients for free.

In turn, Prof. Dr. Gamal Shiha thanked His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid, Patron of the Al Maktoum Charity Foundation, for visiting Prof. Dr. Salah Al Jafrawi, the representative of the Foundation in Egypt, to see what the association and the hospital provide to poor patients
