October 2020 witnessed the signing of medical examinations for 3751 patients, in addition to conducting 1568 medical tests, 413 Fibroscan cases, 705 ultrasound cases, 55 X-ray cases, 330 CT scans, 14 RFI cases, and 415 endoscopies, free of charge by the Egyptian Liver Patients Care Association headed by Professor Dr. Gamal Shiha.
Professor Dr. Gamal Shiha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, explained that 59 arterial injection surgeries were performed for liver tumors, in addition to 51 various surgeries, including 33 laparoscopic cholecystectomy cases, 3 colon tumor removal surgeries, 11 cases of morbid obesity, one case of liver tumor removal, one case of abdominal surgical exploration, one case of hiatal hernia repair, and one abdominal hernia surgery.
Hepatitis B vaccination was also provided to 386 people, various treatments were provided to 897 patients, and chronic liver treatment was dispensed to 775 patients.
