Contributions to Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Elimination:
Developed a comprehensive community-led outreach program for the prevention, testing, and treatment of HCV infection in Egypt, with the goal of eliminating HCV from all adults and providing a model for potential adoption in rural settings. This initiative was successfully implemented across 100 Egyptian villages.
Scientific and Academic Contributions:
Has numerous scientific research publications in international and local journals and conferences and has served as a judge in many international scientific journals.
Parliamentary and Political Work:
Appointed by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as one of the appointed members of the House of Representatives, serving as Chairman of the Education and Scientific Research Committee from 2016 to 2020.
Awards and Recognitions:
Received the "Great Mentor Award" from the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (APASL) in 2019.
Honored with the State Appreciation Award for Medical Sciences in 2021.
Celebrated as the "Hepatitis Elimination Champion" by the Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination in 2021.
