• Founding member of the National Committee for HCV Elimination in Egypt since 2006.

• Served on the Executive Committee of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (APASL) from 2006 to 2010.

Contributions to Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Elimination:

• Developed a comprehensive community-led outreach program for the prevention, testing, and treatment of HCV infection in Egypt, with the goal of eliminating HCV from all adults and providing a model for potential adoption in rural settings. This initiative was successfully implemented across 100 Egyptian villages.

Scientific and Academic Contributions:

• Has numerous scientific research publications in international and local journals and conferences and has served as a judge in many international scientific journals.

Parliamentary and Political Work:

• Appointed by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as one of the appointed members of the House of Representatives, serving as Chairman of the Education and Scientific Research Committee from 2016 to 2020.

Awards and Recognitions:

• Received the "Great Mentor Award" from the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (APASL) in 2019.

• Honored with the State Appreciation Award for Medical Sciences in 2021.

• Celebrated as the "Hepatitis Elimination Champion" by the Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination in 2021.
