When Should You Get Tested for Hepatitis C?
You should consider getting tested for Hepatitis C in the following situations:
- If you have been exposed to needle-stick injuries while handling patients.
- If you have had contact with someone who has Hepatitis C.
- If you have undergone a blood transfusion or organ transplant.
- If you received dental treatment in a clinic that does not maintain high standards of sterilization.
- If you received a blood transfusion from a donor who was infected with the virus.
- If you have used contaminated needles, particularly if you are a drug user.
- If you received blood products to treat clotting disorders.
- If you have undergone dialysis.
- If you are living with HIV.
- If you were born to a mother with Hepatitis C.
