What are the symptoms of Hepatitis E?

Clinically, there is no difference between Hepatitis E and Hepatitis A. The Hepatitis E virus typically causes acute hepatitis, which usually resolves on its own. Symptoms include jaundice, general weakness, loss of appetite, nausea, abdominal pain, and fever. In some cases, the inflammation can lead to liver cell destruction and, consequently, liver failure, which may result in death, particularly among pregnant women.
