How to Prevent Hepatitis C
Following these preventive measures can significantly protect you from contracting Hepatitis C:
- Ensure that surgical tools are sterilized properly when used by dentists or during surgeries.
- Only use blood transfusion services from recognized and accredited blood banks approved by the Ministry of Health.
- Avoid reusing syringes, including insulin syringes.
- Avoid alternative medicine practices such as cupping and acupuncture unless performed under strict medical supervision.
- Avoid using traditional practices for circumcision or wound cleaning; instead, consult only with qualified medical professionals.
- Avoid direct contact with blood or bodily fluids.
- Do not share personal items with anyone, even within the same household, such as toothbrushes, tweezers, nail clippers, razors, hairpins, bath sponges, and women’s hair removal tools.
