Am I at risk of contracting the hepatitis B virus?
If you’ve ever asked yourself this question, to get a comprehensive answer, you should consider the following questions:
- Have you ever had a sexually transmitted disease?
- Have you ever had sexual relations with more than one partner?
- Have you shared needles or used injected drugs with others?
- Do you undergo kidney dialysis or receive blood transfusions or blood products?
- Do you live with someone who is infected with the virus?
- Have you ever undergone cupping therapy, tattooing, ear or nose piercing, or circumcision?
- Do you share shaving equipment or toothbrushes with anyone?
- Do you work in a field where you deal with blood or other bodily fluids?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you may be at risk of contracting hepatitis B.
